FAQs

Updated August 2023

How big is a booth, and what is in it?

A single booth is 8 feet wide and 6 feet deep. There will be a 6-foot wide by 2.5-foot deep table with 2 chairs. Double booths will have two tables pushed together and you will have 4 chairs.

Do you provide Tablecloths?

Tablecloths will be provided upon request only - Please make sure to select that at registration.

Can our booth be placed next to/far away from a certain organization?

Booth locations will be randomized. If you have a special request for booth placement, please indicate in the Comments section of the Employer Registration Form, or contact Career Fair staff, and we will try to accommodate.

Will there be overhead music playing during the Fair?

No; the event can get pretty noisy with a few hundred people talking all at once, so overhead music would be too much of a disruption.

Can we play music/video at our booth?

Yes, as long as the volume is kept at a level that won’t disrupt the neighboring booths or the event as a whole.

What should we bring with us?

Please see the Welcome Kit, which will be sent with your invoice, for ideas on what to bring to represent your company, as well as miscellaneous supplies that may be needed.

When/where do we get our lunch tickets?

Lunch tickets will be distributed by Career Fair staff shortly before lunch. Please be sure to keep your lunch ticket in a secure location so it is not lost. You will be asked for your lunch ticket when picking up your lunch.

We have another representative joining us. Can we get another lunch ticket?

If you plan to have more than 2 representatives for your company (4 with the Sponsorship), please be sure to mark that on your Employer Registration. Lunches will not be sold at the door. We need an accurate count ahead of the event to ensure the correct amount of food is prepared.

What is MaxRecruit?

MaxRecruit offers easy job distribution and optimization across top aggregators, including Indeed, GlassDoor, Jobs2Careers, Nexxt, ZipRecruiter, and more. With performance-based MaxRecruit, we’ve taken the guesswork out of deciding which job board aggregators for you to use by constantly monitoring your job across all aggregators and adjusting its placement and cost-per-click, ensuring you get optimal results.

Can we get a discount if we don’t use the advertising?

We currently are not offering a lower price point if you opt out of the advertisements included in the Booth/Sponsorship purchase.

What is the Ramp-Up Special?

The Ramp-Up Special is an optional addition to your Booth purchase to help increase your hiring/booth traffic prior to the fair. The cost is $200 and includes 2 print ads published in the Employment classified section of The Daily Herald; September 20 and 23, 2023. The ad size is 3.394” wide x 5.5” tall, full color, and should include information about visiting your booth at the fair. Savings of 68% off regular advertising costs.

If we need to cancel, can we get a refund?

Please review the Terms & Conditions for information on cancelling your attendance.

What kind of job-seekers attend, and how many?

Open to the public, the Career Fair sees job-seekers from all walks of life: currently employed, currently unemployed, new college graduates, current college students, highly experienced, newly experienced, those seeking new employment in their current field, and those seeking a career change. One of the greatest things about the Snohomish County Career Fair is the diversity of people that attend!

Past events have had an attendance of 300-600 job-seekers. We anticipate an average of 400 for each event.

What kind of employers attend, and how many?

We welcome organizations from all industries! Past represented industries have been aerospace, hospitality, healthcare, military, finance, retail, construction, manufacturing, education, and much more. Most have locations in Snohomish County, but others visit us from surrounding counties. We typically have 60 companies represented at the Career Fair.

How is the Career Fair being advertised?

Promotional ads run in The Daily Herald, and many other Sound Publishing papers in the months leading up to the event. Ads are also included on HeraldNet.com, PNWcareers.com, JobFairing.com, Craigslist.org, and KRKO Radio. The Career Fair is highly promoted on multiple social media sites as well.

Posters are distributed and placed throughout Snohomish and surrounding counties in high-traffic areas such as government buildings, libraries, shopping centers, and colleges.

The Snohomish County Career Fair broadsheet will appear inside The Daily Herald prior to the event.

As an Employer, we encourage you to push through an intercompany social media campaign with your employees on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We will provide you with optional text and images to share on social media.

Will you ever have an evening and/or weekend Fair?

There is currently no plan to move away from the 10am-2pm weekday event. We found that evening and weekend Career Fair events are less successful than midday/midweek events, for both the job-seeker and employer.
